Introducing the NEW Asics GEL-Kayano 21 available now! The facts from a West Lakes Podiatrist

Do you wear the Asics GEL-Kayano range?  Or do you know someone who does?

Hands-down it is (still) one of the most popular running shoes on the market and it continues to raise the bar! The Asics Kayano 21 resembles 21 years of the shoe’s life! It has been giving athletes and runners the pleasurable experience of high-end cushioned running for this amount of time.. And, it continues to improve.

The fancy stuff:
Both ride and platform comfort have been enhanced via the injection of the Fluid Ride 2 midsole which is 15%  lighter than the previous Kayano 20, but still attains 20% resisted ‘bounce-back’.  A stronger Clutch Counter system has been introduced to minimise rearfoot movement. This new rearfoot system also slows the speed of pronation which decreases risk of soft tissue overload/stress and therefore minimises injury. Asics have also introduced a new and improved forefoot construction which offers more flexibility to promote functional soft tissue loading and a smoother toe-off.

Other facts:

– Available in standard fits, plus D-width (for the ladies) and 2E-width (for the gents)

– Fluid Ride 2 midsole

– 3M Reflectivity for the night runners or early risers

– GEL cushioning front and rear, plus discrete SpEVA 55 last for optimal shock absorption

– Dynamic DuoMax provides increased stability
